ASR 2 - 2nd Grade
My name is Brittany Crouse and I am an academic support teacher (ASR) at Spero Academy. The students in my class will also participate in the general education classroom with Ms. Miller.
This is my 2nd year of teaching and I am beyond excited to learn and grow along with your amazing students. I graduated with my bachelor's degree in Special Education from Augsburg University in 2016 where I received my teaching licensure in Academic and Behavior Strategy. I am currently completing a Master's of Arts of Education in Autism from St. Thomas University as well as working towards a full Autism licensure, which I hope to complete in the Spring of 2018.
I was born and raised in Minnesota. I currently live in Northeast Minneapolis. In my free time I enjoy biking, reading, cooking vegetarian foods, and knitting.
This year your students and I are going to work on our basic skills in the areas of reading, writing, and math. In reading we will strengthen our foundational skills using the four blocks reading curriculum. We will focus on sight word knowledge, reading comprehension, phonemic awareness and writing for a variety of purposes. In math we will work on basic addition, subtraction, and numeracy skills. We will strengthen our skills in time and money, and begin to work towards understanding multiplication concepts using hands on materials.
I know we are going to have another great year at Spero Academy. I look forward to working with you to help your child grow. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns, or needs you may have.
