Hola Familias,
My name is Cassie Westerhaus-Rauworth and I have been teaching since 2016. Before finding my way to Spero Academy in 2022, I taught in Minneapolis Public Schools and Fridley Public Schools. I have experience working with students K-5 in Federal Settings I-III qualifying for Minnesota disability categories of Autism Spectrum Disorder, Deaf /Hard of Hearing, Developmental Cognitive Disability, Developmental Delay, Emotional /Behavioral Disorder, Physically Impaired, Other Health Disability, Specific Learning Disability, Speech/ Language Impairment, and Traumatic Brain Injury. I have also worked with students who dual qualify as English Language Learners and with students who have experienced trauma. I believe in holding high expectations for all learners and incorporating social emotional learning throughout the school day. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies with a certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. I attained a Master of Arts in Education with Special Education Teacher Licensure as an Academic Behavior Strategist from Augsburg University. Some of my interests include traveling, softball, board games, and crochet. I also play in a family band y hablo español!
