Special Education
For students qualifying for special education services, Spero Academy offers in-school physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy. Spero Academy is well equipped to offer in-class, pull-out, group or individual services as determined in the student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).
In order to increase the involvement of parents with children with disabilities in district policy making and decision making, Spero Academy has a Special Education Advisory Committee. (SEAC). The primary objective of the SEAC is to provide the district’s Accountability Committee and ultimately the district board with a parental and community perspective regarding needs of students receiving special education. Objectives include: advise the accountability committee on services and programs, educate school and community on special education topics, connect and collaborate with various school and community groups, Communicate with families, schools, and community, advocate for high quality educational programs for all learners.
