Welcome to 6th Grade! This is my sixth year teaching at Spero Academy. I received my Bachelor Degree at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point in Sociology. My desire for lifelong learning lead me to continue my education and complete my Elementary Education Degree at The College of St Scholastica in 2007, and a Special Education Degree at St. Cloud State University in 2010. I have been employed in the Special Education field for 22 years, and enjoy the excitement and energy that only teaching can offer. My goals this year are to encourage students to exceed their own expectations for learning, and achieve their individual levels of excellence. I strive to build a culture of lifelong learning through a supportive academic and social learning community.
I live in Mahtomedi (Go Zephyrs!) with my wife of 14 years, Brandi, and two beautiful, energetic daughters Ruby (9) and Maggie (6). We enjoy spending time together going to the beach, camping, and ice skating during the winter months. This summer we took an awesome family camping trip on the North Shore. When I’m not busy teaching, I like to play hockey, coach my girls’ softball teams and spend time creating/building things.
I feel blessed to be part of the Spero Academy Community, and look forward to a fantastic year of teaching and learning.
